One-day training-cum-workshop on the implementation of IoT and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for onion crop production


ICAR-DOGR, in collaboration with the Technology Innovation Hub (TIH) for IoT & IoE and Shetmall Farmer Producer Company, organised a one-day training-cum-workshop on the implementation of IoT and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for onion crop production at Dodi Budruk village, Nashik district.
During the inaugural session, Dr. Suresh Gawande, Principal Scientist at ICAR-DOGR, provided an overview of the proposed AI-based initiatives being implemented in the village. Dr. Vijay Mahajan, Director ICAR-DOGR highlighted the immense potential of AI technologies in improving onion productivity and crop management.
Shri Sunil Wankhede, Regional Nodal Officer of the SMART project, informed farmers about various initiatives under the project and encouraged them to adopt AI technologies at a larger scale to boost agricultural efficiency. Shri Dnyaneshwar Nathe, Taluka Agriculture Officer, elaborated on several state government schemes aimed at the holistic development and welfare of farmers.
Dr. Suresh Gawande and Dr. Sanket More addressed several queries from farmers regarding onion Crop Production and Disease Management. The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sanket More. The training was coordinated by Dr. Suresh Gawande and Dr. Sanket More.
